The Festive Season has started. Today was Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna. The streets were full of young boys and girls ( Govindas) trying to break the Dahi Handis in true spirit and Tradition. See Photo below
The drums would have hardly stopped beating and we will have the Ganesh Chaturthi on the 15 Sep. The festival is celebrated for three/five/seven or nine days depending upon the family / locality decision culminating with the Ganesha's idol being led out in a large procession for immersion in the water.
This would be followed by the Navaratri , Dhanteras, Karva chauth, Dussehra, Diwali, Bhai Duj, Lakshmi Puja, Guru Nanak Jayanti and finally Christmas.
With so many festivals coming up gifts for all occassions are a necessity. People buy gold silver idols, jewelery, clothes, CDs, DVDs, devotional songs etc. This festive season get something for every one right here
